Help Rebuild the Oakdale Community Playground
A severe storm damaged our beloved playground. We need the community’s help to raise $60,000 for a safe, accessible rebuild that puts our children back to play.

What happened and why we’re rebuilding
Last winter, high winds and falling trees severely damaged the Oakdale Community Playground—swing sets were torn, the safety surfacing was compromised, and several play structures were deemed unsafe by inspectors. The playground has been closed since the incident, leaving children and families without a nearby, accessible place to gather and play.
Our community has formed the Oakdale Playground Organizing Committee to raise funds, coordinate repairs, and ensure the rebuilt space is safer and more inclusive. Our immediate goal is $60,000 to cover demolition of unsafe structures, professional installation of new equipment, accessible surfacing, permits, and landscaping. We’re committed to transparent stewardship and will post regular updates and budget summaries as funds are raised.
How your gift will help
Every contribution moves us closer to a safe, welcoming playground for all Oakdale families.
Fundraising goal & timeline
Goal: $60,000. With community support we plan demolition and permitting within 1–2 months, equipment purchase and installation in the following 2–4 months, and re-opening when all safety inspections are complete.
What the funds will buy
New, durable play structures; impact-absorbing, ADA-compliant surfacing; safety fencing and site prep; professional installation and inspections; permits and landscaping to restore the park footprint.
